      TBB Mini-Grid Setup: Introduces Convenience and Comfort to the Secluded Holiday Lodge

      Despite its seclusion, convenience is never compromised here. Sunshine seamlessly blends into the breathtaking landscape. The lodge is powered by solar energy, replacing the clamorous traditional generators with an eco-friendly solution. High-powered home appliances keep running even on the hottest days, ensuring a cool and comfortable stay for the guests.

      TBB Mini-grid Solution

      Thanks to the diligent efforts of the installers, this stunning project has been completed flawlessly. Now, this self-run resort is achieving power independence with TBB Mini-grid setup. This setup comprises:


      1. AC+DC coupled PV system: 3 x TBB 8kW Kinergier Pro inverter chargers configured in a three-phase system, coupled with a 15kW PV inverter for AC coupling + 3 x TBB 250V/100A MPPT solar charge controllers for DC coupling
      2. AC coupled PV system: 2 x TBB 8kW Kinergier Pro inverter chargers paralleled in a single-phase system, coupled with a 5kW PV inverter
      3. Lithium batteries: 20 x TBB 48V/5.04kWh ES100 II, installed in 5 IP65 Power Rack (100.8kWh). This substantial storage ensures that the resort has a reliable power reserve, even during periods of low solar generation.
      4. PV panels: 40kWp
      5. Monitoring devices: 2 x TBB Kinergy Wireless Data Logger for real-time remote monitoring on TBB NOVA APP & Web for these two independent systems


      Let’s discover the advantages of the AC+DC coupled PV system:


      • Enhanced Energy Utilization: An AC+DC coupled PV system can enhance the utilization of the solar power generated. During the day, the solar power generated can directly meet the daytime energy demands. Meanwhile, the excess energy will be stored in batteries for night use.
      • Efficiency: With DC Coupling, the electricity generated by the PV panels is used directly to charge batteries in DC form, improving charging efficiency. AC Coupling, on the other hand, converts solar energy to AC form for immediate use in lodge appliances.
      • Reliability: Incorporating MPPT solar charge controllers and PV inverters enhances the system’s reliability. If one part fails, the other can still function, which is crucial for maintaining power supply to critical loads.
      • Scalability: Boasts parallel and three-phase capability, this system excels in expandability. It supports scaling up to 9 units per system (max. 72kW). The AC+DC coupled PV capability further enhances expandability by adding MPPT solar charge controllers and PV inverters.


       

      The overall system configuration was impressive, with each component playing a vital role in creating this exceptional project.


      Robust Reliability and Flexibility

      TBB Kinergier Pro CK inverter charger is key to the project’s success.


      • With transformer-based design, it is capable to handle high initial currents for heavy-duty appliances, ensuring they start without a hitch.
      • The AGS (automatic generator start/stop) function is also notable, as it smartly manages generator operation according to the preset conditions (SoC Control / Load Power Control / Time Control), reducing unnecessary runtime and, consequently, conserving fuel and reducing noise pollution, all while maintaining a consistent power supply
      • Power Assist and Power Control functionalities are pivotal in delivering a steady power supply. The Power Assist function enables a small gen set to power heavy loads, while the Power Control function prevents it from overloading. Both functions ensure the guests can enjoy a holiday free from the inconveniences of power fluctuations.
      • It features two AC outputs for intelligent load management: one for critical loads and the other for smart loads. Owners can manage smart loads based on real-time conditions.

       

      Off-Site Management for Dealers/Installers

      Another highlight of this project is its state-of-the-art monitoring system. The lodge owner has the flexibility to monitor and manage their systems at any time and from any location via NOVA App&Web. Dealers and installers can also utilize the NOVA platform to smartly manage the system, addressing potential issues with alarm settings proactively. This feature allows engineers to diagnose and support lodge owners remotely, even in secluded areas, thereby reducing operational and management expenses.
